Date: Not yet set! Location: Church - Small and old. If I could get married in the little Catholic Catherdal in Antwerp, Belgium, that's where we'd be wed. None of these huge monstrosities that look like stucco office buildings. Reception Venue - Somewhere light and elegantly casual, preferably in a well groomed, French Renassaince style garden, Somewhere outside Houston, TX Ideals: A Fall wedding, with the reception being during sunset. (But with Abel & a lot of his friends and family in the Navy, who knows when we'll be 'permitted' to have it, hehe) Guests: Close friends and family, hoping my family from Scotland and his distant family in Mexico and those in the US Navy may join us on our special day! Theme: Casual elegance with a 'nod' to old English inspired Colonial America during the late 1800's.I plan on a lot of fun, DIY projects being included. Dining: No "Chicken or Fish?" queries here. I plan on doing something trendy and different, with a less "These are our caterer's..." feel, and more of a "Look at what we cooked for you!" feel. Bridesmaid Attire: My bridesmaids will not be clones. I will choose a single color, or possibly 2 colors, and then each of my bridesmaids will be able to choose a dress that fits them and their own personal style, as long as I approve it to be the right shade.
I really like the idea of sprinkling flowers down the aisle of the venue. Especially different flowers other than the usual rose petals. These even look like they might be wildflowers, which would be 'right up my aisle'.
